Hi, I am Sara Mastropole
I am a North Carolina licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologist. I earned a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University and a Masters of Speech Pathology from Vanderbilt University. During my years at Vanderbilt, I received a grant to help teach speech and communication to children after receiving a cochlear implant.
I began my career treating children and adults at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC. When I left the hospital setting, I focused my career on children and adolescents in a variety of settings. I have provided speech services to children in public and private schools, preschools, daycares as well as in their own homes. My special areas of interest are articulation, receptive and expressive language disorders, and executive functioning deficits. I focus on a child’s strengths in order to help them make improvements in their areas of weakness. I also put a strong emphasis on family and caretaker education to help carryover changes and strategies into a child’s everyday life.
My free time is usually spent cheering on my two sons behind the sidelines of a soccer field!
