Hi' I am Kristen Mims
I am an ASHA certified, NC licensed speech-language pathologist. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Georgia and a Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Alabama.
I have spent my career working with children in multiple settings including preschool, private and public schools, out-patient clinic, and private practice. I have nine years of experience treating children with receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, fluency disorders, auditory processing disorder, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder. I have a particular interest in the areas of childhood language disorders and articulation/phonological disorders and enjoy working closely with the child’s family, caregivers, and teachers to increase the rate of results and carryover. I have received specialty training in the Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory approach to reading.
I am a Charlotte native and outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Will, our two little boys, Wyatt and Brady, and our golden retriever, River.
